The best of both worlds, back to basics: recapture the best of the old world craftsmanship with todays most sophisticated technogy for self-sufficient living. I have been for years building a fully self- contain automated home off the grid with renewable energy savings systems. Making a living with a home based business, with traditional skills and old aged arts. The  practice of unconventional methods to save money, time, the enivironment and save more natural resources!  Promoting thrift as a viable alternative lifestyle. Using traditional home remedies, time- tested methods for staying well- the natural way. Using common sense to solving everyday problems. In todays world  you can't afford to be unprepared. If you want the security of being able to live from your own personal resoures year by year regardless of the external conditions. Give your family a measure of security in an uncertain world. Don't limit your resources or your abilities, never stop learning, the more skills the better........

Chief William "Leanin'Tree" Barry
Historical Re -enactor

"Let me live where I can be myself. Practice my peoples customs, our religion, our way of life. The Iroquois people are most truly themselves, being spiritually refreshed. Retain thier sovereignty, thier independence, govern themselves and preserve thier own sense of worth. Preserved thier attachment to native values, taking from outsiders what is of benefit to them."

Tribal historian gives presentations, lectures, re-enactments to assembles, schools, origanizations, clubs and groups. Public or private on the native american culture of the northeast.

Hobbies I enjoy the most which add to the wallet from time to time are handcrafting leather cafts, wood toys and furniture. The family garden helps out from time to time but is really work..... Remember if your going to do anything, try make money doing it. Also Barter is not a bad word either.

Credo of the American Indian Movement (AIM)

"Let me be a free man, free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade where I choose, free to choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to talk, think and act for myself and I will obey every law or submit to the penalty.
                                 Chief Joseph of the Nezperce'

Ten Native American Commandments

1) Treat the earth and all that dwell there on with respect.
2) Remain close to the great spirit.
3) Show great respect for your fellow beings.
4) Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
5) Give assistance and kindness whereever needed.
6) Do what you know to be right.
7) Look after the well-being of mind and body.
8) Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
9) Be truthful and honest at all times.
10) Take full responsibility for you actions.

Iroquois Philosophy

Embraced all of nature, no man owns the land it belongs to the great spirit and his children. Those who use the land must keep it clean and beautiful for those who will come after. No man owns the woods or the forest, the waters and the rivers, the soils or the earth. It belongs to all. Wild plants, trees, flowers, all belong to the great spirit and man must take care of them for him. No man owns the animals, the fish in the waters, and he must take only what is needed. All who are old and sick or helpless have the right of protection of the tribe. All children regardless of birth, have a place in the tribe.
